Founded by MaharishiThe David Lynch Foundation, a nonprofit philanthropic organisation, hosted a gala event in New York City on 12 September 2024 to celebrate the launch of Meditate America, a national initiative to bring evidence-based meditation to relieve burnout and promote well-being for frontline healthcare workers and first responders. Hosted by award-winning actor Hugh Jackman, the event was held at Jazz at The Lincoln Centre.
Honourees included United States Surgeon General Vivek H. Murthy, MD, who received the “Enlightened Doctor of the Year” award for his inspiring leadership for Health Workforce Well-being and other critical initiatives to promote societal well-being. Maria Shriver, a global women’s health advocate, was honoured as the recipient of the “Enlightened Woman of the Year” award.
